Aslynn & Micah have been cute as usual. Here are a few of their special moments.
We were playing football today outside. Yes, Aslynn too - don't laugh. They were running around, tackling one another and dodging hits, making touch downs and kicking field goals, rescuing the ball from the alley and neighbors' yards. Judah didn't play because he can't call any plays yet. Aslynn was hiking the ball to me and I would block for her after a hand-off. Yeah, she had a few TD's, so did I, so did Micah - so we all won in some way. Every time I 'got tackled', Aslynn would come by and try picking me off the field. "Okay, Daddy?" It was adorable. She lifted my spirits, at least. It has been a rough week for some friends of ours at Ridgeview. That's something I may share later.
"Stop sinnin'!" What do you think when you hear that? Funny, eh? We hear it daily. That phrase is used whenever someone sings at the table. Huh? Well, Shrek tells donkey to 'stop singing'. Micah says it 'sinning' and now, so does Aslynn. He even emphasizes the syllables the same and tops it off with hand gestures. "Stop sinnin'!"
Aslynn has been praying more lately. A lot more. In fact, she goes on and on and on. Some of makes sense, some of it sounds like gibberish, all of it is cute. But the food at the dinner table is getting cold, so we need to help her with her 'Amen's.
She also has a new word: 'ladybike'. She thought that motorbike and ladybug sounded so good together, she'd make them into one word. Any time we see a ladybug, and any time we see a motorbike, it's a 'ladybike'. And Mustangs are any car that's yellow. Any car. Or van. Or pick up. Anything yellow. In our end of town there are a LOT of 'Mustangs' according to Aslynn. Almost every second house in our area has a 'Mustang'. Taxi's are in short supply - we've got 'Mustangs'!
Judah learned how to turn over from his back to his front. That was cool. Three times in one day. In one hour. Yup. He's a keeper.
