Crazy Comments

It's been awhile since we did a post about silly and cute saying from the kids and there have been some good ones.

After the baseball game the other day I was talking to Micah about how Aslynn missed the game and how she might get disappointed. We talked about something that she might enjoy doing and he wasn't quite sure what she would like. I suggested something to do with princess and he agreed that she liked that. Then I asked what she might like to go to. With a dry voice and much eye rolling Micah says,
"I don't know, maybe some boring wedding or something."

Aslynn was at the BBQ with Mom & Dad the other day. We thought that it might rain and so we sent two umbrella's with them. Aslynn worked this out in her head and turned to Grandma at one point and said,
"You and Grandpa and Judah can share that umbrella and I'll share this umbrella with Aslynn."

When we were up at Uncle Robert & Auntie Debbie the other day the kids had been all sent outside to play. On the farm there are lots of interesting things to find and the boys happened upon a deserted bee hive. They didn't see any bee's around it but still approached with caution. Micah is scared to death of any flying insect and didn't want to get to close. So he thought of a great idea.

"Daniel," He says to Benjamin, "Do you want to join our club?"
"My name is Benjamin." The three year old replied.
"Oh ..... Well do you want to join our club?"
"Sure." Benjamin follows Micah very excited. He has no idea what a club is but it sounds like it must be a very good thing. The two boys walk over to where Noah is standing. Benjamin trailing after Micah. As they get to where Noah is standing Micah declares,
"Hey Noah, I found a volunteer! He can hit the bee hive for us & knock it down!"

Only in Micah's mind would a club member quickly change to a volunteer. And also only in his mind would it be a good idea to get the much younger cousin to hit the bee hive first while he stands back at a distance until he sees that it is safe.

Not to be outdone by his siblings Judah has decided to add some words to his vocabulary in the past few weeks. The most important one is the word "puppy" which is usually accompanied by some very high pitched barking. The word puppy applies to all animals. And if a real puppy is around he will mob it, roll around on the ground with it, and try to squeeze it to death, and pull it's tail off. Puppy also applies to Kitties. Mom & Dad's neighbor has one and we have a hard time convincing Judah that he should not climb up on their porch and curl up in the kitty's basket with it. Last week 'puppy' also applied to all the horses we saw in the Calgary Stampede Parade. We were about halfway through the parade and had been working hard to convince him that those animals were called horsies not puppies and that they went 'Neigh' not 'Woof, Woof". He was almost getting there. At one point he even looked at them and said in a questioning tone, 'Zee-Zee's?' Yes we replied clapping and excited, those are horsies. I thought he was convinced. And then what should come down the street in the parade, but all of the miniature horses. They were exactly the size of a large puppy. All of our hard work went down the drain as Judah looked at them and declared, 'Puppy!!'. After that we could never get him back to the idea of horsie.

On a good note though, Judah said the word 'Mommy' for the first time. He has been saying words like, Uh-oh, Daddy, Ball, Grandpa, Cookie, No, Soother, All done, & Puppy for a long time. It's good to know where I fall on the order of things important in his life.
