It was so fun to work with Judah who wouldn't stop screaming, even when we gave him back his rolling pin and gave him his own chair. King Judah ended up sitting on his bed for a while until he calmed down. You know how difficult it is to keep kids from eating the dough, right? Well, once we gave them icing to use it was even more difficult to get them to refrain from indulging themselves. I think there was a finger licking session between each cookie. The knives for spreading icing were just covered. And the little balls and sprinkles for decorating were all over the floor in the end. But boy was it fun!
Can you see what happened to the village of Graham? The Judah-Monster happened. Faith and I tried assembling them the night before, and with some success (and the powers of drying icing) we were able to put the roofs on these little homes. However, no matter how structurally sound they were, there's no standing between a little boy and his stomach.
The kids did decorate these homes. Judah kept the house he demolished and it was much easier for him to decorate as rafts. He lined up all his little candies on the table fleeing to the rafts. Micah's had 9 gummie children and their parents trying to get into his house. Aslynn eyed the largest candies possible to try to attach them to her roof. It was a lot of fun...
I think that Faith and I spent more time on our houses than the kids. Faith's had a nicer yard than mine, but mine had a really nice roof. But the village didn't last long after it was built. Two days following construction Micah's was missing a wall. Judah's was already on the ground. Aslynn after seeing Micah's smashed hers to bits. Whatever. It was fun while it lasted. Faith's will probably last longer than the rest of ours. They taste rather good. Besides, if hers is the last one standing, it will be the one the kids fight over in the end. If I can eat mine at the same speed, they won't be begging for my roof - they'll be eating through her yard!
