The Waterboy

Micah was a waterboy for a tournament a weekend ago. The old Caronport arena (Sparrow Gardens) was closing its doors with an alumni tournament and the new arena was having its grand opening. He was asked by a friend of his if he would help, and, being Micah, how could he say no to hockey? So, he and Carter and a few other friends ended up filling the water bottles for all of the games for all of the teams. We weren't sure he'd make it through the first day, let alone the whole weekend, but somehow he managed to keep his composure until the last game when his attitude experinced a crash at home.

It was warm that weekend, so Micah was considering just going in the jersey the team had given him, but then he decided, “Actually, I will bring my coat so I can use it as a post.” They had been playing mini-sticks hockey the whole time in-between games, and Micah though his jacket might be useful afterall. Faith helped during the weekend as well by flipping pancakes for the many visitors who came to check out the new arena (a number of alumni, residents of the community, former Briercrest staff, MLA's and MP's, and the man the arena was named after, Dr. John Barkman).
