Aslynn has been hilarious at night. She's been having a few issues getting to the toilet in time, so I have been assisting her before we go to bed at night. The night before last, she was mumbling something to her friends situated on either side of her. I had no clue what she was saying or who she was talking to. Also, I couldn't wake her. I sat her on the toilet and she did nothing. At 5 AM I was changing her sheets for the fourth time this week.
Last night when I tried to get her up to go to the bathroom, she looked at me and said, "Are you coming for T-shirt Day, Daddy?" I wasn't quite sure how to respond, so I said "Sure" and then took her to the bathroom. She went, fortunately, and about when I asked her if she was done, she told me, "I don't have to go." When I explained to her that she already had, I realized that she had just at that moment woken up from her sleep-talking and walking. I took her back to her room and tucked her in her cozy warm bed.
This morning was miserably cold and wet. I got out of bed late and got the kids going so Micah wouldn't be late for school. As coincidence may have it, I was wearing a t-shirt. So was Aslynn. Aslynn commented to me, "Hey Dad! You and I are both wearing t-shirts today!"
I almost couldn't contain myself. She thought it was funny only because I was laughing. It's amazing what people will do subconsciously...
