Our House (in the middle of our street)

Yes, literally in the middle of our street. It's the one you can actually see when you pull into our cul-de-sac. 18 Greenwood Place, Spruce Grove, AB. It's nothing fancy from the outside, but its a great place to live. We've found that there is less light pollution here than at our place in Caronport, less wind, less money spent on insurance and utilities and... except for the price of the house, basically everything seems cheaper to me. But we've had to put out a good chunk of change here there and everywhere because it costs money to move. However, having someone send a truck and move us - priceless.

Dan Duckering went the 'extra mile' with his new trailer.
George Vanberg and Kyle Ulmer from the church pitched in.

Of course, our friends were a huge help and kept us sane through so much of this

I'm grateful the move went as well as it did. And once we got here, people provided meals for a week (and those meals including leftovers lasted for almost three weeks as of yesterday. There was a potluck in our honour and a pantry filling that made me put up new shelves in our new laundry room / freezer room / pantry.

It's thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for. We've been treated great so far. Everyone keeps asking us if we've settled in yet, to which we respond with something along the lines of, "You're kidding, right?" Micah and Aslynn seem to be adjusting well to school, but it's not been easy or immediate. Micah has had some form of ailment (sick to his stomach, headache, just-can't-get-myself-out-of-bed blues) and I brought him home from school after a few tears one day. But he's recently found that he likes playing soccer with his new friends at recess and that there are a few Christians in the bunch. And his principal, Mr. Teale, knows him by name and has greeted Micah twice while we were at Spruce Grove Saints games while he was announcing. Aslynn is still having fun at Kindergarten, and I hope she remembers something more than just having fun - she can't seem to remember much more than that at home.

Eventually there will be a picture of the school posted. It's a cool design - completely circular and open to the centre where the library is. But I would think that it would be rather noisy having all those classrooms open to each other. I don't know how Micah is concentrating since he is such an observer / people-watcher. He needs a quiet room with no-one around to do his homework in...
