We all know that you want to see cute pictures of children. Ours in particular. I know they're late. We're down one computer and the other has been burning the midnight oil publishing sermons recently. So I figured out how to blog using my phone today. Unfortunately the pictures are on my camera. This will soon be remedied. I just remembered that I actually have all the cords I need to upload them since my guitar case was returned.
We went to the kids' school on Monday afternoon to watch the costume parade. There were some gooders, including our kids' homemade ones. Aslynn was a cowgirl and Micah was a pirate. God bless Value Village!
Micah's teacher from last year was Waldo, as in "Where's Waldo?" and the kids didn't know who he was. There was a Canada Post delivery person (aka mailman) with the bag and dogs hanging off of him. One teacher was Malificent *shudder*. One kid was a perfect Velma from Scooby-Doo, and Aslynn's friend Lily was Little Red Riding Hood. It's always surprising to see what parents will buy for their kids or think is appropriate.
We made quite a haul in the evening. Judah donned his dinosaur costume and I my Prince William (thanks Tanisha) and all of us took the same route as last year. Some people decorate even more hardcore than at Christmas. Unbelievable stuff! Aslynn rushed to the doors, and was first most of the time Judah would go up to the houses behind the other two kids and chime in, "and besides, Happy Trick or Treat!" then he would proceed to put in a request for extra puppy food (who begged helpless victims with his sad, anime-like eyes) with great success.
Micah got cold, even though we haven't had snow yet, and went home early with Faith. Fortunately for him, we never let our kids 'own' it, but it all goes into one pot and they need the key codes and retinal scans and permission to access it (proper times, words, attitudes, asking, you understand).
The next day Judah wore his dinosaur to preschool. It sounded like a good party according to him. He shaved a pumpkin, carved one, had some brew to drink, and listened in his own Judah way. I think it was a good time had by all.
