Day 8

I (Mark) came early in the morning to feed little Judah. There's always been a little discrepancy on how much he weighed originally. 6.159 lbs means what to you? I thought so. But we were told that the scale uses the decimal to simply separate the pounds and ounces. While he was in Red Deer, he dropped to just over 6 lbs 1 1/2 oz. He's been slowly but surely gaining that back. Bulk up, buddy. Eat your Wheaties! Er, formula. I've been able to do some work from here at the hosptial between feeding, holding, and changing him. I'm working on a sermon, but traded with the gentleman who was supposed to be on next week.

Friends of ours also had a beautiful, healthy baby girl yesterday and I'm going to go visit them at another hospital. He's supposed to be leading worship, and I was his fall-back guy, so I asked someone else earlier in the week knowing that this might happen. I ended up sitting on the couch and talking with one of our youth today as well. They had to put their dog down this morning, and Sato was someone we all loved and played with. It was pretty hard for him and his family. People will be shocked and hurt when they find out. He (Chris, not the dog) was supposed to be running sound tomorrow for church. I guess that will be me since I passed everything else on to capable hands and can't find anyone to replace him today...

Oh, and I got a Clergy Pass for the hospital. It was pretty easy. Almost too easy. I also get to park for free at all the hospitals in Calgary now. And get in to see our friends and family and church folk in hospital when other people can't access them. Joy and Shayla's baby shower is tonight too...

Speaking of "showers", here's his first bath picture. Sorry, no censorship offered on this site....
