Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig Jig Jig

Yep that's right. We showed up at the hospital at lunch time today holding our breath a little. Last time they told us he was going home he ended up staying another 3 days. But today was the day!!! The doctor's were very happy to give us the thumbs up and let us take him home. The last hospital bottle was given, the instructions about meds and heart rate were repeated, the appointments with the cardiologist were made, and we dressed him in real clothes, snuggled him into his car seat and officially have become a five member family.

There is so much to be thankful for right now. God has blessed us so much. I wouldn't want to repeat this anytime soon, and wouldn't want anyone I know to have to do it. In fact I could cry right now if I actually thought about everything and how horrible and stressful it has been. But I won't. Instead let me share what I am thankful for.

- Judah's birth mom. She is the most amazing, wonderful and strong woman I know. She has huge dreams and I long for the day she will be able to look back and celebrate reaching all her goals. If your reading this girl, I love you and we pray for you everyday.

- SCN (Special Care Nursery). The SCN's in Calgary are full right now. Only God could have gotten Judah a bed here. He has had extremely good care. In fact one of the nurses here in Calgary goes to my parents church and so it was great to have someone we 'know' caring for Judah when we could not be there. We are extremely grateful to God for arranging a place for Judah here in the city so that we would not have to drive as much.

- Judah's lung condition. As horrible as it was to see him like this I need to be grateful for it. If he had not been born with underdeveloped lungs I don't think his heart condition would have been found for a long time. Who knows what would have happened had this condition had gone undiagnosed and unmedicated.

- My husband. I was reminded today, (by him), of how many silly little errands I asked him to do. Phone calls, paper work, picking thing up, watching the kids. (Actually right now he's giving them a bath so you get the idea). He is the most wonderful husband ever and I appreciate so much everything he does for us.

- Family and friends. It has been wonderful having such an extensive support system of people praying for us, watching our kids, cleaning our house, bringing us food, lending us their vehicle, and numerous other things. We will never be able to repay them. I only hope that one day we will be able to do for them what they have done for us.

Mark is going to post some coming home pictures later. I hope you like the outfit we picked out for him with his birth mom. I love it and maybe it will fit soon.

- Faith
