Aslynn's Birthday No. 2 (Mambo No. 5?)

We invited some friends of Aslynn's over for her birthday. We weren't into planning a big party at first, but the more she got into it, the more we did! Oh, and happy birthday, Mom! Aslynn was a regular party planner. She picked out her cake from the cookbook, selected her dinnerware (plates and napkins), found balloons at a steal of a deal, and even ensured that her under 4 ft. guests got party hats. Now, mind you, the gift bags were an after-thought they would have been nice to know about beforehand. But when your sweetheart princess wants suckers for all the 'suckers' who came, who's gonna stop her?

Some of her dinner guests had to graciously decline the invitation due to other all-important events in their lives (hockey, parents painting the house, etc.), so she enjoyed the ones who could attend. Judah couldn't have been happier that Micah and Aslynn had someone else to pick on - er, play with. Our nephew ended up slashing one of the dinner guests with Micah's new hockey stick and left a mother of a welt. Not too much mischief happened besides that. The green balloons were pretty popular vs. every other colour and some reference was made to the fact that two just wasn't enough to go around.

Sorry Barbie, I know the camera adds 10 pounds.

Everyone seemed to like Aslynn's cake however. I call it 'Barbie on Fire'. It's a Zucotto. Try saying it - Zu-cat-to. Very good! Here's a hero cookie. It's otherwise known as 'Cake-in-a-bowl Cake' filled with whipped cream and cherries and a Barbie. The Barbie, by the way, was a side purchase that came along with the Pegasus Barbie Castle that Micah and Aslynn got for Christmas this year. That was purchased at the CAS Silent Auction. (Not from my personal collection, of course.) Micah did score a pirate ship and action figures too. Don't feel too sorry for him! Back to the cake: The whipped cream theme appears as the icing as well mixed with vanilla pudding and blue food coloring topped with gummies, Smarties, and Mike & Ikes. Good on ya.

Aslynn got an inflatable chair that illuminates with rainbow colors, a pink folding Barbie chair, some cute outfits, a tiara, some ponies, a Dora the Explorer doll, her first kids Bible, and a wall doll to decorate her room. Nice haul, girl! And she really looked sweet in her party dress, especially with no other girls to compete with.

Naw, she's the cutest anyway. Sorry girls out there! She's stolen my heart.

Mark you're right, she is the cutest!!! (Besides Katelyn of course, but Katelyn is still a baby so thats ok). That picture is so so so adorable! We were at her "cousin" Joels 1st birthday last night, fun times. You know in a way we're related. Joel and Rayah are Katelyns second cousins and your kids' second cousins. I'm cousins with Drea and Faith is cousins with Brett, weird! Ok enough about how I'm related to everyone, have a great day guys!

Happy belated birthday, Aslynn! I thought that last pic was soooo cute. Titus was sitting on my lap and he had a different take. For some reason he thinks that Aslynn in fishing. Too much Sunday School maybe? (Feeding of the 5000?)
