Wardrobe Club

Years ago the ladies in our church started what they refer to as 'Wardrobe Club'. It's a very elite group in the church as it can only ever consist of twelve people. Over the years ladies have come and gone and the group has changed a lot. What happens is that every month each of the twelve ladies writes a cheque for $25. Then they all get together and have a fun night out without husbands or children. At this time names are drawn and whoever gets picked wins the pot of $300. to spend on clothes, trips to the spa, basically whatever that lady wants to do just for herself.

This fall the group found themselves in a position where they had lost some members and so there were only ten of them. The group decided together that they wanted to bless two ladies in the church. So they each started putting in $30 a month and asked two ladies to join the group at no cost, just to bless them with the wonderful gift. I was one of those two ladies asked to join.

What a huge and wonderful blessing this has been to me. My name was drawn last month and I have been able to spend the last four weeks shopping. (because really what else have I had to do the last few weeks.) So on Wednesday night the ladies were all here to visit and see what I had got. Let's just clear up the fact that I don't remember the last time I had $300 in a year to spend on clothes, never mind one month. I went all out. I got 2 pairs of jeans, black dress pants, brown dress pants, a belt, two long tank tops, a sweater, 5 shirts, one sweater, a $1.00 skirt, a jean jacket, and underwear.

So much fun!!! Thank you to all the ladies who blessed me in this way and may God bless you too for the gift you gave to me.

that's so awesome faith! how fun would that be- it's like they gave you the 'what not to wear' credit card yet you were able to find with $300 the same that those people find for $5000 (whenever i see that show i always think of how they could get so many more clothes if they just shopped at regular stores!)

I can't imagine spending $5000 on clothes. That's more money than our whole wedding cost!!!
