Aslynn has turned into quite the little party planner. I can see a bright future ahead of her in that industry, as long as she has a very good administrative assistant beside her. She had her cake planned 6 months ago and has not wavered from that decision at all. Every birthday between then and now has had endless questions about when her birthday would be and when she would get her cake. While shopping the other day she was very delighted to pick out napkins, plates and party hats that she deemed necessary for her guests to wear. Supper was dictated to us that it should be 'princessy' & pink. We attempted this, really we did. We set the table kind of fancy, added a pink table cloth and turned our attention to the menu.
Pork roast was approved by the picky princess, but she still wanted pink. So we made apple sauce with added cranberries in it. (It's a beautiful reddish colour and tastes great and met her qualification as to colour.) Mom than added bread sticks, broccoli with cheese sauce, (for reasons unexplained by normal children Aslynn loves steamed veggies, actually she likes most all veggies I've ever given her). We than also added a layered strawberry jello in various shades of both red and pink. Our princess was delighted.
She was also very pleased when her cake, the creation she had dreamed of for months on end was brought out. Really what little girl wouldn't want a pink castle cake? I had fun making it for her.
After cake she enjoyed opening her gifts. Everyone followed her theme wonderfully and she enjoyed her princess clothes, princess movie, a little princess to play with and dress up, as well as some very cute clothes for her to wear, (in pink of course).
It is so cute to watch how excited she gets about things. I love to see that and watch her enjoy every gift that she opens.
So it was a fun night and now we get to pack up all of our stuff and head back to Caronport and a trailer without water that Mark will probably need to spend all day Sunday fixing.
