Corn Maze

We went out a bought a new camera last week. Just in time to try it out on our day adventure yesterday. We headed out to the corn maze in Lacombe. Before tackling the maze, we let the kids play around in the yard. Slides, 'horsey' rides, little pedal cars, and a corn box were all enjoyed by all.


























After filling our tummies, sun-screening our bodies, and filling our water bottles, we headed to the maze. The little ones decided it was nap time so we tucked them into their strollers. The rest of us wandered for two hours through the maze. Aslynn even managed to walk most of it. We asked her once if she was determined to stay away and walk the whole thing. She responed by saying. 'I'm determinded, ..... and I'm dusty.' Sure enough when we looked down our feet were almost black from the dirt in the maze.

























After that long in the maze and with dirty feet we decided the only thing that we
could do was drive the 10 minuites over to Gull Lake. We played in the water for over an hour before starting a fire and roasting hot dogs. It was a great day. The kids were exhausted by the end of it all, but it was worth every moment.
























At the end of the day we went out and picked saskatoons at the Saskatoon Orchard up the road. We were sure we'd missed the turn for it several times, but were grateful when we arrived. The bushes were laden with berries and after filling 6 buckets we filled our tummies (we had permission from the owners who also showed us their 100 year old school house as well). The kids stayed awake the whole way home unfortunately, and Judah threw up once. Either he's teething still, or he ate too many berries...

Now we feel spoiled - strawberry jam AND saskatoon syrup, pie filling, and more for the winter. We are blessed.
