Whirlwind

The wind is gusting between 60 and 80km/h here today. You should see the leaves fly! It's even more unnerving to be in the trailer as it creaks and moans and rocks with the gusts. No wonder the insurance company asked whether it was tethered down or not (not that it would matter , would it?).

Micah said the trees look dead. He's right. Almost everything has been defoliaged, and I'd expect that whatever hasn't fallen off by the end of today might stay on all winder - excuse me, "winter".

It was rainy and windy on Monday as well. Some friends and I went golfing in Moose Jaw and all the courses were closed! So, being the die-hard golfers we were, we went anyway. The sun came out on the ninth hole, so we figured we'd go another 5 just so we'd be on the opposite end of the golf course when it got so dark we couldn't see our balls any longer and had to walk the whole length of the course in water-logged shoes. It was fun, though.

Speaking of winds, we just made a whirlwind trip up to Grande Prairie for my cousin Shawn's wedding. We left Thursday at 1 PM and returned Sunday at 10:30 PM. Considering that its about a 13 hour drive without stops and going the speed limit, we did pretty good! Crazy? If it was, wouldn't we automatically qualify to do it? It was good to see the family (briefly). Hopefully next time will be longer though.

We were thinking that the wind is blowing the right direction today for Faith's parents to come and save on gas - they'll be here late Friday or early Saturday for Thanksgiving. That will be exciting too. And I've been told we have some windows coming this weekend too. Maybe they won't rattle as much as the old ones...
