Aslynn had a great birthday party. One was shared with two younger girls (Abby and Tanisha) who we regularly visit with at church, in the seminary community, at each others' homes, etc. She was very excited to receive not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE pairs of shoes. She squealed with delight as she opened the gifts. It was really quite cute to watch. The party was a lot of fun.
The next day, Aslynn invited over a bunch of her friends for a tea party - no gifts required. I think she just wanted an excuse to dress up with her friends and share her new shoes. Anyway, Faith made little pinwheel sandwiches, friendship tea, and other tasty treats, along with a chocolate tea-set cake. Aslynn thought it was the best. After the company had sufficiently eaten, played, and left, we gave Aslynn her gifts from the rest of the family, including her new kitchen. She's had to fight off the boys in order to spend any time there because they like it so much. Especially Judah. He's been a real menace when it comes to hogging it and pushing all the right buttons, both the ones on the stove and Aslynn's.
