Judah was trained - for about two weeks in January - and quickly reverted so we decided that we didn't want the same fiasco we had going with Micah trying to fight him for most of a year before he decided it was time to stay dry. Some weeks ago Joy returned our training pants for Judah to wear since our niece Shayla is done with them. Judah pulled them out of the bag and proudly showed them to Faith and declared to her, "Look! Pankins!" Translation: spankings.
Aslynn got into a lot of trouble yesterday. She has wet herself daily for the past three days and then again at night. We have had no major changes in our lives lately, and I just don't get why someone would want to do that! Aargh! What can you do? It seems that everything we try fails. No matter what privilege she loses, it still happens. Hopefully her compounding sentence of lost dolls, teddies, blankets, and TV will count for something, but she has little understanding of long-term loss. It seems that she remembers everything in her own Aslynn way, but conveniently forgets the things that will most obviously get her into trouble.
Take for instance yesterday. She is only allowed to ride her bike in front of our house and cannot go past the stop sign. Micah on the other hand is allowed to ride on the whole street. As it turns out, Micah rode to the end of the street yesterday and proceeded to walk beyond the boundary to check out the soccer field. Aslynn figured that since big brother was allowed past the stop sign she was allowed too.
She ended up playing for an hour in a friend's yard who called and let us know what was going on. When her friends went in for supper, she wanted to follow them in. My buddy Brian asked Aslynn why she was coming in, and she told him that her mommy said she could. He questioned her further on it and Aslynn told him that Faith was at a doctor's appointment and said she was supposed to stay with them. Of course, he verified with Faith the truth and Faith came to pick up our little deceiver. When we told her she was to apologize to him after supper and to wait on the porch, she again waltzed right past the stop same sign she was repeatedly told not to pass. Yup. She's a winner alright.
Oh, and an update on Micah - he watched his friends play soccer yesterday and now he wants to play. Go figure. Apparently it looks fun. Besides, he isn't allowed to ride his bike for the next few days for going beyond his boundaries...
