Winter Blows In

Brrrrr! Yesterday sent shivers up our spine. I turned on the furnace for the first time since May. There was no snow on the ground, or even frost, but a bitterly cold wind ripped through here. Literally. The other night, Faith said to me that it sounded like the wind was trying to rip the roof off - I, of course, being the loving husband that I am, just groaned and rolled over. Talking to my friend Brian Westnedge, he said that his wife Janice had same thing to him in all seriousness that night, to which he responded that it was probably a garbage can rolling down the road. When we rolled by their trailer in our van on our way to church that morning, this is what we saw. I remembered I had forgotten my camera at their house the night before, so I knocked and got it to photograph this:

Fortunately, this picture is not our trailer, nor our friends', but it is one of the rental units directly across the street from our friends. The roof is being repaired as we speak by maintenance here at the school. I was glad that no trailers tipped over and we still had a garbage can in our yard. All of our bikes were toppled by the powerful gusts. I didn't drive more than 100km/h on the way home from church it was so wild still. Crazy!

BTW, Judah is toilet training well, Aslynn has wet the bed twice, and Micah hasn't at all in the past 10 days! 2 out of 3 children improving instead of digressing is a blessing...
