Kid Quotes

Our kids are always ever so slightly funny. I'm grateful for that because they can often complain, whine, argue, and boss around, and those are far less attractive qualities. The other day they were all praying for Grandpa Nation (who is away in India right now, check out "In His Grip" from our links). They don't exactly know all of what he is doing there, but their prayers are so cute whent they have been given something or someone to pray for. Lately they've also been praying for a baby to come in April and have been suggesting to God that it be a boy - or a girl, whichever he decides - but the boys want a boy, and Aslynn is continually waffling back and forth between boy and girl. Sometimes they ask for two babies so we can have both.

Of our children, Judah is the easiest to get up out of bed on any given day, and usually the most pleasant. Micah is owly until he gets some sugar into his system, and Aslynn has no control over her mouth until she wakes up a little bit more. Anyway, Judah got up for church last weekend and says to me, "Daddy, my bones are 'wobbowy' (translation: wobbly)." I didn't know he knew that word. He could hardly stand up, but he was ready to get on with the day and get out of his room. It sounded hilarious when he said the phrase, and looked hilarious when he walked. It was like watching WALL-E trying to get dressed and ready for the day, bumping into things while trying to walk over the mess he had made the night before in the dark of his room when he was supposed to be 'sweeping' (translation: sleeping).

Judah has his own name for some things. I don't know if you've heard, but that stuff on the rolls in the bathroom is called 'toilet-tape'. He's used the term several times, and I just don't have the heart to correct him yet. Faith would tell you that I'm really good at correcting people, but not in this case. Yesterday Judah was teasing me, then told me, "I'm just a kitty!" I don't think he meant what he said. I'm pretty sure he meant to say, "I'm just kidding", but maybe he honestly thinks that's what we tell people when we joke around!

Aslynn says some odd things occasionally as well. She commended Faith the other day for doing something just like Grandma. Apparently "putting the curtain on the oven" is something that Grandmas do.
