The Corn Maze

It was a pretty good, aside from a few minor blips. We got away from the church on time with all the money, most of the permission slips, snacks, and all of the youth. It was almost flawless, really. The map was even right. And then, we didn't lose any of our 30 youth in the maze. In fact, it took most of them only a half hour to run through the whole thing. However, with Judah along, it was not going to be that smooth. I ran into the rest of the family at a few points in the maze, but checkpoint four was our undoing. Judah ran off in our sightline, an then POOF. It was magical. A child dissapears into the corn field and when we chased after him he was gone.  Faith and I split up, Micah with me and Aslynn with Faith, to find the mising munchkin.

It was a good thing that I gave everyone my new phone number. One of the girls chased him down minutes later and caught him. She called me up and we tried to find each other in the maze. I told them which checkpoint to meet me at and they came to us. Then another group of youth came and found us to lead me out and look at an injury one of their friends had. Yup. Had to call her parents and she wound up going to the hospital for six stitches because a corn stalk punctured her hand. Of course, I hadn't told Faith that I had Judah in hand and was out of the maze. She also had a cell phone, which I had forgotten in it all.

Anyway, the rest of the time was great. We even got back in time. On time. After a quick bite of supper, I was off to watch a few of our youth perform at a concert (which I enjoyed).
