Heard around the house

Judah and Aslynn were pretending that Judah was a kitty that Aslynn was taking home with her. This happens a lot in our house. Sometimes they're both kitties. Anyway, he was following her across the living room meowing, and pushing two cars along with him.

Mommy: 'I didn't know that kitties could play with cars.'

Aslynn: 'Yeah, he's that kind of kitty.'

----------------------------------------------

Tell me if you've heard anything like this recently. I'm sure you haven't.

Aslynn barges in from outside shouting, 'Judah's stuck in the tree in the yard!'

I can hear screaming outside, so I look and see Judah's foot stuck up in the tree and he's standing on the ground. As I'm grabbing my boots to go outside I'm seriously wondering to myself where the camera is, because this time I definitely need a picture.

Aslynn then poked her head back in to tell me that Judah got out. I look out and he's sitting in the 5 foot snow drift putting his boot back on. Apparently, it was easier to get unstuck without a boot on. To tell you the truth I felt a little disappointed that I didn't get a picture.

Oh, and the kids aren't allowed to climb trees anymore. We'll see how long that lasts.

----------------------------------------------

As Mark is standing in church talking to the senior pastor, the kids come rushing in to see him. Judah screams, jumps up into his arms, and exclaims at the top of his lungs,

"GET AWAY FROM ME SATAN!!!"

Mark turned and looked at him, saw another kid running the other direction from him, and asked, "What did you just say, Judah?"

"GET AWAY FROM ME SATAN!!!"

From the pulpit, the senior pastor has been telling us to resist the devil audibly because Satan can't hear our thoughts. I don't think this is what he meant though. Some would say the other little boy who ran away was who Judah claimed he was, and some would like to say it's Judah. But they would be mistaken.

----------------------------------------------

Judah: "Is this how you oosually do it?" (It took a lot of coaching for him to say 'usually').

----------------------------------------------

After racing around the living room for awhile with Aslynn, Judah says to Mark, "Listen."

Mark listens for a second, trying to figure out what he's referring to. Then Judah tells him to come down to his level and listen. Still nothing. Finally Judah pulls Mark's head into his chest,

"See, my heart is beeping!"

----------------------------------------------

Oh Aslynn! At the supper table someone brought up the topic of magic. I don't remember why. It didn't really matter though. It really wasn't memorable. Aslynn's commentary was.

"Only God is magic......... and fairy god-mothers."

Oh that had me hooting! That is hilarious! I love the "GET AWAY FROM ME SATAN!" That is classic. My kids give me so much material I forget it all. It's so good to write it down so that we don't forget how funny they are.
