Garden Gnomes
Look at those hard-working little munchkins! I know they moved a lot of dirt. It went all over the yard with them, to and fro, and that's just the stuff in their boots! They helped dig holes, toss in potatoes, cover things in, and were a delightful nuisance. Micah spent more time playing fetch with Daisy, Everett's dog. The kids were in their glory and remained relatively mosquito-free.
Where are my manners? I'm sorry - this isn't our yard. It's Everett Falke's place. And his garden. We will get to share in it thankfully. I'm excited to see how things will come up and I'm doubly excited to let the kids loose on the 20 acres he has. This was Saturday, May 14th as opposed to a rather uneventful Friday the 13th. And boy was it windy! Dirt everywhere... but fortunately for us, the yard is completely hemmed in by trees on all sides of the property. You could almost have a cult compound on the yard and no-one would be the wiser. Just to assure you though, there isn't - just an outdoor kitchen, a small workshop, a horse and two cats, his in-laws, a double-wide with an addition, some guns, a compound bow - totally reassuring.
We had a great time. Duane & Sonia Paulson were there with us as well. It was fun to work together and catch up with them. We had seen them just a few weeks earlier under less than ideal circumstances - Shera's funeral. It was good for us to all just hang out and spend time together with a completely different focus (in some respects).
