| Sixteen cousins (of twenty-seven) made for an adventurous weekend! |
Judah really got into the bale jumping. He had a great run and wasn't afraid of much. He went end to end to end to end. Several times. Shayla really tried. She would muster up her courage, count down from three, and then scrunch up as tightly as possible before leaping like a giant frog. Judah would just take a mild run and hop over without much effort. Perhaps he learned from his siblings...
Okay, so maybe not the pro, but a brave example of how to fall gracefully and get back up again. Frantictast. I mean, fantastic. She did awesome, actually. and virtually effortless from row to row.
The gap-master. The hayonator. Bale-o-rama. The flying scarecrow. Oh yeah. He reminded us why we called him Hancock (or Superman with 'attitude'). He cleared even the largest spaces without so much as a slip (or none that he spoke of anyway). We didn't see a lot of him as he was all over the place: on his bike down the dead-end road to nowhere and everywhere, on the canoe around the lake which has risen five feet and clears most of the fences for the first time in years and washed out the gravel road, on the quad scoping out dead calves and coyotes and bringing home the bones...
Meet the Guynupsaurus
Uncle Brian cratively drilled, tied, screwed, and rebarred the skeletal remains together into this. I'm not sure if science is ready for this, but the kids sure were. Isn't this how the Brontosaur controversy started?
There were other great moments too. We'll share some of the rest of those over the next few days. (And congratulations Vancouver for making the Stanley Cup Finals. You need all the help you can get.)

That looks like an awesome time! We love our time on the "farm". No bales to jump but it's fun just to be out on the open prairie with big machines.
