Day 16 - Going Home

Two continents.

Four states and provinces.

More than ten cities and over 4500 kilometres.

Nearly 30 family and friends visited.

And now we are home.

We left Kelowna at a decent hour knowing that we had a long journey ahead of us with limited stops and lots of possible delays. We said our goodbyes to Great Grandma Siebert after loading the van one last time and headed out towards Revelstoke and Banff. The views were beautiful. We got to Golden around lunch time and took a break there, but we began to feel like we were near home when we were approaching Calgary. Unfortunately, that isn't anywhere near home. We planned a brief stop for supper in Innisfail with Faith's parents, which was perfect timing because the van needed fuel before heading out on the last leg of our journey at that point. We visited for a short while and Micah took in his first few events of the Olympics on TV while Judah and Aslynn messed up the basement with their imaginations.

We're glad Phoebe made it through everything. She definitely needs new brake rotors and basically the whole front end replaced, but she is a trooper and has done so well for us. She's talking about retirement, but I know she has a few more good miles in her. This trip was proof of that. She has a good ticker, and that's most important. And she even played the brand new DVD's the kids got on the trip - over and over and over. They really didn't watch that much TV. I should show you some of the other stuff they did...
