The Sacred Supper Table

I was thinking of naming this post something else, but I thought none of you would read it then. I’m desperate for approval, obviously.

Tonight we had a great laugh at the table. It was a total gas. We got some special Coke plates from Faith’s sister Joy this year for Christmas (‘50’s Diner Style) which we used to eat our soft tacos on. Aslynn achieved the first snicker by adeptly placing her taco on her plate vertically. Yes, the taco defied gravity. And not just for a second or two, it stood straight up through her navigating to get her mini Coke glass at the back (with Coke in it), taking a drink, then returning it to it’s rightful place and picking up the taco again! Maybe she’s just an illusionist in a one-and-a-half year old body.

She would take a drink of Coke between every bite. It was cute. I should tell you at this point that her birth-mom is craving Coke right now with the next one, and she's a hardened Pepsi-drinker. We got to go see her yesterday! Anyways, I think Aslynn drank more than I did! Micah inhaled his first taco, and went on to his second. He looks at me and says, "Daddy, you're nuts!" I don't know what I did to deserve that, but you've got to give him credit for noticing. I agreed and assured him that's why he fits in with this family so well.

Faith then winked at Micah, and then at Aslynn. He's figured out how to do it with just one eye - Aslynn, on the other hand, just closes her eyes really tightly. It's cute. But this time when she squinted, we heard this unmistakeable FFFFPT coming from someone's posterior and we burst out laughing, with one of us saying, "ASLYNN!" What we thought was a squinty-eyed fart was actually Micah's work next to her. He said excuse me shortly afterward.

We were coming close to the end of the meal, and she started playing peek-a-boo with us. We of course hammed it up and acted surprised. It was a blast. Yep, supper with the Siebert's can be rather -- fun.

Squinty-Eyed Fart. Yep, still funny!

Okay, that totally made me laugh out loud - picturing the squinty eyed fart and the suspended taco...

Thanks for sharing the story - I needed that today :)
