Trick or Treat!

Last year Aslynn was Pebbles Flintstone with pinky red hair, sporting a bone in her ponytail, and a leopard-skin skirt. This year the fashion diva donned a red polka dotted dress and some black ears with a red polka dotted bow. Yes, she's...

MINNIE MOUSE!

Micah wore quite the hat last year accentuated by a bandanna around his neck, a plaid shirt, some jeans, and leopard-skin chaps - making him look like an urban cowboy (some people mistook him for Woody from Toy Story). This year he had a few options. In the end, he selected a black cape, shield, breastplate, shin pads, and a foam-rubber sword. He is...

A MEDIEVAL KNIGHT!

Judah was not around last Halloween to share in the glorious candy haul, of which Aslynn 'trick-or-treated' herself in circles around Micah, raking in almost 1/3 more candy than he did. Judah sat in the stroller most of the time and smiled, wearing a white woolly bodysuit. He is...

A SHEEP!

Last year Daddy wore a funky wig, tight pants, tall shoes, a hood-ornament chain, and an ugly 70's disco shirt. This year, he and Mommy went to town with custom made costumes sewn right at home while we were in Calgary. This was their first showing since the feast in August...

A MEDIEVAL MAIDEN AND SQUIRE!

The kids had a lot of fun. We went into Moose Jaw and hit up one block by an Elementary School. That was all it took. Micah's football bag and Aslynn's pumpkin were brimming with goodies - at times overflowing - and we had to make regular deposits into the stroller basket. Every single house had something. Micah and Aslynn were having fun. After every house, Aslynn would comment, "Let's do 'nother one!" They were fairly polite, and Aslynn, who began timidly, began eagerly saying "Trick or treat!" multiple times before people would even open the door.

It was nice to go while it was daylight so we could see what was going on and we could keep track of the kids. It could have been scarier after dark there anyways. Aslynn was terrified by one of the other kids costumes that looked like a green Freddy Kruger with veins popping out, stringy hair, and a voice modulator. She hugged my leg as if it were a life and death situation and I was the police. A couple of places had 'scary' dogs too. Aslynn had a nightmare last night about one. I had a nightmare about something completely different - leading worship.

We ate some cheeseburgers at McDonald's before returning to Caronport, where more homes participated than we expected. We were told by a few people not to even bother earlier. After a few more homes, we wrapped up and headed to our home to dress down and examine the loot, sorting it chocolate & candies to chips and pop. I personally headed out the door to play hockey, which I was almost late for, just to get spanked 7-0. Our 'tender had a rough night, and the bounces just weren't going our way. We out-shot the other team by a fair margin even - 42 or so to 36.

Speaking of hockey, I should take some pictures of Micah on the ice. I'll tell you how that went the first night (and prior).

I would've loved to see the the three of them all dressed up! They sound adorable. But wait, Aslynn was timid at first? Is that even possible?
