I think it 'flu' away... nope, my bad, it's back!

Micah and I are on our way out to hockey practice tonight. All that remains of that swine of a flu is a bit of a cough. Faith, Aslynn, and I never caught it (PRAISE GOD!) and Judah ended up cycling through round two after his fever broke and was gone for more than 24 hours on Friday. He relapsed on Saturday and was no good to anyone until Monday morning. Even then, he is still the crankiest little fella you could imagine. All the kids' emotions are running high. That can also have a direct affect on parental emotions, as those of you with children know. It's easy to act like a two-year-old when your seven-year-old has already succumbed to the lures of toddlerhood.

Besides all of this, there is a positive - Judah has been dry for well over a month now. It took him a couple of weeks to figure out the #2 thing, but after 3 cold showers he was all over that to. It was his decision not to wear underear at naptime, not ours. Judah then chose to wear underwear at night very soon after, and has now successfully trained himself sooner than any of our other kids. He hasn't wet the bed once - which is more than I can say for either Micah or Aslynn in the same time frame. Top all of that off with being sick and weary, he's done well for himself.

On the other hand, last night was the first night that he didn't wake me up to take him at around 6 AM. He is still figuring out that he can put his little toilet seat on the can, move the stool over, and sit himself down all alone. I think he finally did this last night - but Aslynn got me up at 1:40 AM to help her with a bed-wetting issue. I haven't had a full night's sleep in over two weeks. Ah, the joys of parenting!

I'd love to tell you one of the primary reasons we haven't updated the blog in recent days. I might get there one day. Until then, I'm just going to leave you hanging and play some Perry Como for you...

Good for Judah!!! Shayla has figured out the #2 thing now and is showing signs of beening ready for no diapers at nap time!! She figured out this week that she can take herself to the bathroom and we get told that "I can do it myself"...until she needs help with the tap!!!
What else is going on Mark?!?!?!!!!
