Flocks of birds in the winter - it's been a bit of a weird year weather-wise. It's so warm outside that all of these migratory birds came home really early and they were everywhere. We couldn't count them all. The kids were enthralled. The birds came, ate our choke cherries and dried decorative apples from our trees en masse and left within an hour. Then they returned the next day to finish what they had started. Again, I've never seen so many smaller birds at one time. Geese, absolutely. Small birds, never. I think we scared them a little with the kids opening and closing the patio doors so many times.
