It's quite simple, really.

Step 1: Show child pictures on the internet of cake ideas.

Step 2: Ignore much of what your child selected and do what works.

Step 3: Bake the amount of cake you think you might need.

Step 4: Sketch what you should have before you baked the cake and decide if you need more.

Step 5: Just go with it. Start carving.

Step 6: Stop carving halfway through and wonder if you are nuts.

Step 7: Make it happen.

 

Step 8: Buy a new tip for your icing decorator kit.

Step 9: Make the best-tasting icing ever. Put it in a bag, and decorate like you were made to.

 

And all I can say is "Awww - isn't it cute?"
